Bundy – £600

The Bundy oboe, made by the Selmer Company of America, (Mr Bundy being their production manager at the time…..), is a good, robust, entry level instrument with reliable mechanism and good intonation. It is ‘covered-plate’ also known as ‘plateau-system’, making it ideal for younger players with small hands. They are usually plastic bodied (plastics are surprisingly good for the acoustics of an oboe), which has the benefit of being more resilient when not dried out properly after being used. Again useful where younger players are concerned. This level of instrument will take a player to grade 5 or 6.
