  • HOWARTH B MODEL – A good example of this classic, wooden, covered-plate, starter instrument made by the Orsi Company of Milan and finished in the Howarth factory. This one, like most oboes that play well, has been well used and does show signs of wear on the key plates, but the general condition is very good and it plays as it should – £550
  • BUNDY – made by the Selmer Company in the USA. Plastic bodied with silver plated keys. Covered hole, thumb-plate system. Plays very easily and in lovely condition – £600
  • BUFFET 4120 – Buffets are an ideal starter instrument that will take a player to grade 5 or 6. They have the advantage of small ‘vent’ holes, in the centre of the finger-plates of the left hand, preparing students for their next, more advanced, oboe. The 4120 is a wooden bodied instrument with nickel plated keywork – £600
  • HOWARTH JUNIOR – A rare chance to obtain this excellent starter oboe. The junior is a ‘cut down’ version of the S10 more suitable for younger players as they are lighter (having less mechanism). – £700
  • HOWARTH S10B – A 90’s version of the S10 (Howarth’s standard entry level instrument) in lovely playing order – S O L D
  • MALERNE – A very beautiful ring-system, thumb-plate professional oboe from this fine French maker – £850
  • WARD & WINTERBOURNE TW3a – This is their intermediate, wooden bodied, covered-plate model and as such is a good direct alternative to the Howarth S20 – £1200
  • BUFFET ACADEMY A lovely full Gillet (with added thumb-plate), professional system model in excellent order – £2000
  • RIGOUTAT RIEC This is a fine example of their ‘graduate model with thumb-plate and left-hand-F. The RIEC is the same acoustics as their professional model, but with machine finished (rather than hand finished) key-work – £2500
  • RIGOUTAT RIEC – Their ‘graduate model with thumb-plate, third-octave and left-hand-F. The RIEC is the same acoustics as their professional model, but with machine finished (rather than hand finished) key-work. It has everything that the professional model has with the exception of some, seldom used, adjusting screws and the left-hand D# to E trill mechanism, When I have serviced it, it will be – £2600
  • PÜCHNER 33E – An 80’s instrument offering all the excellence you would expect from this maker. The 33E model is the standard professional instrument with thumb-plate and moved third-octave touch. Everything is in excellent condition as I have just serviced it and it plays beautifully –  £3250
  • MARIGAUX 901 – A late 70’s instrument in lovely condition – £3250
  • HOWARTH XL – A late 90’s one, but hardly used over the last ten years. A beautiful oboe being sold on behalf of its original owner who cared for it impeccably – £4500
  • DUPIN GINET – Dupin are a small, but proven, manufacturer of oboes based in Zurich. I don’t come across these very often, but they are always excellent. This is the first time that I have seen the ‘Ginet’ version, but it is clearly of the very highest standard. It is around 20 years old, has had less that normal use and hence is in superb condition. – £5000
  • DUPIN – A lovely brown-wood oboe in excellent used condition. Being a brown wood oboe it is a little lighter than normal and a slightly ‘mellower’ tone. – £5000

Used Cors Anglais

  • CABART – An interesting open-hole (only two) system cor made from rosewood. Being rosewood, it is lighter than most cors, and plays with a very positive sound. A good ‘first cor’ without breaking the bank – £1700
